History

SSD Technology Partners was founded in 1983 as Software Services of Delaware, providing small businesses adopting newly available personal computers with software solutions unavailable at the time.  In 2005 the company changed its name to SSD Technology Partners to better reflect the evolving nature of our business.  While software development remained a focus, we were now also providing trusted technology consulting and support services for small and medium sized businesses in the Tri-State area.  Incorporating “Technology Partners” into our name was a direct result of the relationships we were forging with our clients; one of trust, mutual appreciation and respect.  We continue today to consider ourselves a true partner to our clients, existing for the sole purpose of serving them and their employees.  

Ownership

Located on the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware, SSD Technology Partners employs nearly 70 full time dedicated team members, with over 35% having a tenure of 8 years or more.  The company is owned and operated by Lisa Detwiler, President and Woodie Bowe, VP of Technical Services.  Together they have taken the vision of the founding partners to new heights; incorporating additional services while remaining focused on “always doing what’s right for the client first and foremost” with confidence that focusing on the client’s needs first continues to result in long term client loyalty and company growth.

Why is IT important

Information Technology has evolved in rapid pace and everyone in the business world, and personally, has become dependent on staying connected and productive. IT was now the lifeblood of any business and keeping all moving (and nonmoving) parts in sync was overwhelming for all of our clients.

Where is SSD Located?

SSD’s client base expanded in parallel to changes and the complexity of maintaining an IT infrastructure. In 2010 we moved from New Castle Delaware to larger facilities at the Wilmington Riverfront. The new modern offices also accommodated a significant increase in the size of our team.
